Hi, I am Marilou!

Welcome to my website! This site is where I have fun expressing what interests, inspires, educates, and humors me.

I am someone who loves to be creative. My happy place is in my sunny Arizona, breakfast nook studio, where I come up with lots of ideas of things to make. These things generally fall into the venues of: journaling, crafting (which includes die cutting), art, DIY, sewing, quilting, embroidering (machine and free motion), needle felting, 3D printing projects, and more.

My preference of styles tend towards being vintage, rustic, Victorian, or boho. These styles are indicative of my fascination for culture and history (especially the Colorado mining history - living in Colorado awakened my interest in bygone eras). However, other styles, such as contemporary, abstract, and modern, also capture my consideration.

I find my greatest inspiration and joy in the simple things; sunrises, sunsets, the season changes, the melodies of the birds, listening to the wind rustle the leaves on the trees, hearing the rushing sound of a mountain stream, etc. Likewise, the day-to-day things; savoring a stimulating cup of tea or coffee, smelling the scent of freshly baked bread, feeling the breeze of the fan and hearing the sound it makes, hanging out with my family and our cat at home, are a few of the simple things that bring me so much joy and thankfulness.

In my off-time, my favorite method of relaxation and meditation is to sit back and absorb the sights and sounds of ambience videos, as they transport me into the midst of those simpler things and into a down-to-earth way of being.
