I love this image! It's like a secret place of magnificent beauty, hidden in the midst of the mountains. The only way to discover it is to veer off the beaten path. This image is one instance where even a painting of nature can teach us about ourselves. The lesson hidden in it is that we can veer off the beaten path of those habitual thoughts that dominate our thinking and discover that magnificent beauty, that secret place of peace and calmness, in our mind.

I had to smile when I saw this image. My guess is this young lad was tasked with raking the leaves but he grabbed his favorite book, a few apples to munch on, and snuck up into that tree instead.

This image reminds me of the saying, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. But teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." I daresay the father in this image isn't just teaching his son to fish, he's also teaching him to be resourceful.

The wash is done and hanging outside to dry. It's time to relax on the front porch steps with a glass of fresh lemonade and enjoy the warm summer day.

This image makes me think of the innocence of childhood. I tend to think I still carry that innocence with me. To this day it gives me great pleasure to slip off the shoes and socks and dip my toes into a stream.
