Frosted Fox Cookies

These fox cookies are adorable! I wasn't the one who baked and frosted the cookies. But had I been, I'll admit (but don't tell anyone) that it's possible I would be tempted to consume an unconfirmed amount of them.

My sweet tooth knows a good thing when it tastes it.

I do plan on making these cookies someday. I've already found what looks to be a great fox-shaped cookie cutter. But how to make the frosting the color of a fox, that is the question. I did some research and found the ratio of food coloring to use for variations of that orange color:

  • For a bright orange, add 1 part yellow to 1 part red.
  • For a light orange, do 3 parts yellow to 1 part red.
  • For a dark burnt orange, add 2 parts yellow, 2 parts red, and 1 part blue.

Now I just need to come across a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth cookie recipe. On second thought, maybe I should find just an ordinary cookie recipe. 'Cause at the mere mention of "buttery" and "melt-in-your-mouth", I'm already, allegedly, tempted to over-indulge on these delightful cookies.
